โŒ Prior Australian visa violations

โœ… How to avoid: Any prior overstay or condition breach must be disclosed and explained; non-disclosure is automatic refusal

โŒ OSHC not covering full period

โœ… How to avoid: Purchase OSHC for the full course duration + at least 1 month buffer; extend automatically if course extends

โŒ Inconsistent study history

โœ… How to avoid: Explain any gaps in study (work, health, etc.) in GTE statement; officer checks for consistency of academic history

๐ŸŽฏ Expert Tips from Jaivik Overseas Counsellors

  • 1.Spend significant time on your GTE โ€” it is the most subjectively assessed part of the Australian visa
  • 2.Regional study (outside Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane) gives extra 485 duration and PR points
  • 3.Electronic visa means no sticker โ€” print your Visa Grant Notice and carry it when travelling
  • 4.The 48-hour/fortnight work limit is per fortnight (2 weeks), not per week โ€” that's 24 hrs/week effectively
  • 5.Apply 2โ€“3 months before course start; Juneโ€“August applications take longer due to high volume
